Does the CodyChat license include hosting?

No. CodyChat runs on PHP and MySQL hosting you provide. Resellers tuned for it listed plans from about $7.39 a month in early 2026.

Are the CodyChat addons included in the license?

No. The addons sell separately, commonly $8 to $13 each. ChatSocket includes the equivalent features, from profile music to rank tools, in its plans.

How does ChatSocket compare on price?

Every room starts with a free 7-day trial. After that Basic is $9 a month and Premium $19, with hosting and features included and no addon store.

CodyChat Pricing - What You Actually Pay

Q: Is CodyChat free?

No. The platform is a one-time license purchase per installation, and each license covers one domain. Addons and hosting are separate.

The license is the first line, not the last

A CodyChat license is a one-time purchase per installation, and each license covers one domain, so a second room means a second license. What the license does not include is everything that makes the room live: hosting, extras, setup and the years of upkeep after.

Four more lines on the bill

Addons sold separately

More than a hundred addons live in the reseller stores, commonly $8 to $13 each: profile music, user levels, custom profiles, rank editors. The features regulars notice most are often the ones sold apart.

PHP and MySQL hosting

The script runs on hosting you provide. Resellers tuned for CodyChat list plans from about $7.39 a month, and a busier room argues for a bigger plan.

Setup and hardening

Installation, configuration, security and backups are yours to do or to pay for. Resellers bundle setup help exactly because it is real work.

Upkeep, forever

Platform updates arrive while the vendor ships them, and every update is yours to apply, test and fix. The server does not take holidays.

A year in rough numbers

Take a modest setup: hosting at about $7.39 a month is roughly $89 a year. Three addons at $8 to $13 are another $24 to $39. The license sits on top. ChatSocket Basic at $9 a month is $108 a year, with hosting, updates and every feature in the price.

What the same money buys here

A free 7-day trial on every room, no card details taken up front.
Basic at $9 a month: one room on one domain with the full chat, points, filters, profile music, voice messages, the public listing, the embed key, custom styles and fonts.
Premium at $19 a month: everything in Basic plus up to 15 rooms, voice broadcast, the AI member Evan, Google sign-in and cloud storage.
No addon store: the features above are in the plan, not beside it, and updates arrive on their own.
Cancel from the plans page whenever you like. The room keeps working until the period you paid for ends.

In fairness to CodyChat

Self hosting is not a mistake: it buys total ownership of the code and the freedom to modify anything. If running a server is part of the fun, CodyChat is a solid script. The question is only whether the server was ever the hobby. If it was not, a hosted room puts the same community online without the chores.

Check the numbers yourself

Reseller prices above were listed in early 2026 and change over time, so confirm them in the current stores before deciding. Then compare like for like: our plans, the feature comparison, the addon story and the move itself.

Try the hosted side

Free 7-day trial on every room, then Basic $9 or Premium $19 a month.
